I see in most modern Christian fiction books that the heroine has to have a personality and attitudes that are not what I think a Godly women should be displaying. A meek and quiet spirit, submitting to others, gentleness, putting others before ourselves, humility, dressing modestly, etc. We wonder why we as a society are in such peril spiritually. We seem to forget or just do not know that woman was made for man. So many story lines have to include some or all of these characteristics in the heroine; she is pushy and is admired if she gets the hero to do it her way, for example, usually someone gets hurt or even killed so she can go to an event while under protection after one of several attempts on her life, so many heroines do not cook but not only does the man cook but is expected to cook for her, not every woman can cook but does he have to? Our modern hero often gives up his job and moves to where the woman is. I realize the heroines from Grace Livingston Hill's books may be considered to woman of our time as doormats, but turning the other cheek, gentleness, meekness, being a haidmaiden and so many other Christ like attitudes are what I would love to see in a modern heroine and myself!I thought our heroine was much less pushy yet did a great job at helping the investagation, forgave the hero quicker than I would, and stayed in the car!Mostly predictable but still a few unexpected twists and well written, congratulations!SPOILER ALERT thanks for letting the hero protect at the end in the correct manner that a police officer is trained to do. Sophia Archer is an investigative journalist who is caught in a terrifying position. Her sister has been kidnapped, and is being held hostage. No reward was requested. Her investigative skills are what the kidnapper wants. He is requesting that a man currently on trial can be proven innocent. She has turned to Detective Noah Bradley, arresting officer in the case, and by curious coincidence, a former classmate of hers in school. Noah, after being apprised by Sophia, immediately turns to his team to investigate the hostage situation, and re-investigate the case happening, using Sophia's skills to assist. But life suddenly gets crazier for them as they become targets for murder as they pursue the cases of freeing her sister, and looking at the current arrested criminal. This is intense and very engaging. I thoroughly enjoyed the journey.
